- I'm off to San Francisco in the morning for the Escape From Alcatraz. I did this race last year and am REALLY excited to return and try it again. It looks like they are not doing the live race-tracking this year (like they did last year), but you can still look up the results once they are posted. Hopefully they'll get them up before the end of the day. You can find them HERE. (6/11)
- It was a rough week for Riptide. At our first Boulder Stroke and Stride race of the season last Thursday, Jordan got tripped up on the beach and ended up fracturing his tibia. Apparently he will be out for 6-8 weeks. Also, yesterday afternoon while out on a bike ride, Tate Behning, was hit by a drunk driver in Lefthand Canyon in Boulder. Thankfully he is okay, and came out of the incident with only some compressed vertabrae, extensive road rash and a totally destroyed road bike. It could have been much worse. I wish them both VERY speedy recoveries. (6/7)
- Had an awesome time racing with almost the entire Riptide Elite and Junior teams over Memorial Day weekend in Austin, TX. After a great swim in bike I found myself in 2nd heading out onto the run. Unfortunately, I couldn't hold on, and ended up fading to 5th Overall, but it was a great experience and a solid overall performance. On the elite side, Jordan Jones led the Riptide Team with a 22nd Place finish in the ITU race. (6/7).
- Coming up this weekend is the Littlefoot Triathlon in Lakewood hosted by all of us at Riptide. Should be a great time and it looks like we might even have good weather! Stop-by if you're in the area! (5/12)
- Riptide had a dominating presence at the Barking Dog Duathlon in Denver this past weekend taking 6 of the top-14 overall spots in the men's race as well as 2nd in the women's!!

'09 Season Goals:
- Earn my Pro-card (rqmts.) and begin racing ITU races on the Continental Cup circut.
- Focus specifically on Olympic and half-Iron distance tri's. Improve average olympic time to 1:59 or less.
- Finish out season as top 15 (nationally) in my age group M25-29 (was 28th in '08).
- Top 3 Amateur overall finish at one of USAT's "Elite Qualifiying Races" in early '09.
- Run sub- 1:17 in the half, sub 34:30 in the 10K and sub-16:20 in the 5K.
